Talk to your Mac.

Press OptionCommandSpace, say what you need, and a yellow cursor does it while you watch.

Free in early access · macOS 13 or newer · Intel and Apple Silicon

Option + Command + Space (or “Hey Otto”): Otto pours out of the notch, finds the folder, waits for your yes, then drags it to the Trash.

Say it the way you'd say it to a person.

Otto finds things, reads them, tidies up and sends them. It asks when it isn't sure, and remembers your answer.

One shortcut. Then just say it.

  1. Summon

Press Option + Command + Space. A drop falls from the top of your screen and the yellow cursor is born out of it.

  2. Say it

Talk, or just start typing. Plain words, the way you'd ask a person.

  3. Otto finds

Files are searched and read in the background with Spotlight. Nothing pops open on your screen.

  4. You stay in charge

Deleting, emptying the Trash and sending email always wait for your yes. Esc stops everything.

Asked once. Never again.

Otto keeps a short list of what it knows about your Mac: notes you write, and what it learns from your answers. It reads that list before every command.

Every task is logged too: what you asked, each step, where the files were, and what it cost. Say “the same as yesterday” and it looks back.

Works with Claude.

Add Otto to Claude Desktop with one button, or to Claude Code with one line. Then Claude can ask Otto to do things on your Mac, read what it did, teach it, and change its settings.

Deleting and sending still wait for your yes on screen, whoever asked.

Moved the wrong thing to the Trash? Undo puts it back where it was.

Press Esc and Otto stops at once. The yellow cursor is drawn on top; your own mouse stays yours.

Questions

Is Otto free?

Yes, while it's in early access. Otto uses your own Claude API key, so you pay Anthropic directly for what you use. A typical task costs about a tenth of a cent: we measured $0.0007 for a folder question and $0.001 for a logo search.

What can it do today?

Find, count, read and convert files; open apps, websites and the right Chrome profile; move things to the Trash and empty it; search Gmail and Google Drive and send emails with files attached. It can't click inside other apps or websites yet. That's the next step.

Will it delete something by mistake?

Deleting, emptying the Trash and sending email always stop and wait for your yes, said out loud, clicked, or typed. A move to the Trash can be undone from the bar. Moving your own mouse or pressing Esc stops Otto at once.

What leaves my Mac?

Your command and only the pieces Otto needs to do it (file names, and the text of documents it reads) go to Claude, made by Anthropic. Your voice goes to Deepgram to turn it into text. Searching happens on your Mac with Spotlight. Your activity log and what Otto has learned stay on your Mac.

How does it get smarter?

Otto keeps a knowledge list: notes you write, plus what it learns from your answers, like which folder you mean by “urban chat”. It reads that list before every command, so it stops asking. No AI model is trained on your data.

Can I use it from Claude?

Yes. In Otto's Settings, open Connections and add Otto to Claude Desktop, or copy the one-line command for Claude Code. Then you can ask Claude to have Otto do things, read Otto's activity, teach it, or change its settings.

Why does macOS say it can't check Otto?

Otto isn't notarized by Apple yet. The first time, right-click Otto in Applications and choose Open. After that it opens normally.

Windows?

Mac only for now.

Your Mac, by voice.

Free while in early access. Bring your own Claude key; most tasks cost about a tenth of a cent.
